Aged gouda cheese is made using old world Dutch cheesemaking methods. This Wisconsin cheese was cured on imported Dutch pine planks in temperature and humidity- controlled aging cellars. This Gouda cheese has matured for 12 months. Despite its age, it is still very sliceable, and small “salt crystals” have formed during the long ripening process. This old Gouda cheese will be an eye-opening taste experience a beautifully rounded, full-ripened Gouda farmer’s cheese with a robust texture and aromatic flavour made from unpasteurised milk.
